This isn’t just about Gantt charts and deadlines — it’s about leading teams, managing regulatory deliverables, and translating complexity into results. If you enjoy ownership, coordination, and big-picture thinking, this role is a powerful pivot point.

🎯 What Does a PV Project Manager Actually Do?

The PV Project Manager is the operational backbone of pharmacovigilance delivery. You’ll typically be responsible for:

  • Planning and tracking PV activities (case processing, aggregate reports, signal evaluations)
  • Managing timelines, KPIs, and stakeholder expectations
  • Overseeing cross-functional communication between medical reviewers, scientists, and vendors
  • Handling audits, inspections, and compliance monitoring
  • Ensuring delivery of regulatory submissions, including PBRERs, DSURs, and RMPs
  • Facilitating client communication (in CRO or consulting setups)

You may lead internal safety meetings, prepare progress reports, and even be part of governance structures with sponsors or senior leadership.

You move from “doing” to ensuring things get done — on time, with quality, and in compliance. It’s not enough to know PV processes — you must now orchestrate them.

You’ll bridge internal departments, external partners, and regulatory timelines — without dropping the ball.

You’re often the last line of defense before something goes to health authorities. Mistakes reflect on your planning.
